A sundry collection of projects or items I have attempted.

For 3D printing, I enjoy using composite filaments rather than the typical polylactic acid (PLA) thermoplastic. Metal composite filaments are thermoplastics that contain fine metal powder in addition to PLA and can be finished to create a metallic shine.

Making soap, cooking and baking, learning to solder, and graphic design are a few of the other things I have engaged in over the years.

Food has been a life-long love and cooking and baking are the creative skills I have developed the longest.

The soldering sampler came from practicing a series of soldering techniques, each represented by a square. For example, the upper-left square demonstrates simple cutting, and making holes in metal in addition to creating, opening, and closing jump-rings in order to join two pieces.

I've also been painting silk scarves lately and the picture here is just one example.

Later in life than I should have, I began to study areas of the visual arts. My training has been self-directed through independent study, online learning, and in-person classes and workshops in the arts community of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

To get an overview of the field, I completed MoMA's Modern and Contemporary Art and Design online certificate and spent time learning to draw, paint, do photography and graphic design; then metalworking and jewelry-making as well as 3D design and printing technologies.

Currently, I am primarily painting on silk scarves with fiber reactive dyes although I used silk paints in my earlier works. Another endeavor has been crafting small items such as wallets and notebook covers from vegetable tanned leather.
